Daily Count FAQ

Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions page for the Daily Count iPhone App. Below you will find a list of commonly asked questions and responses from the developers of this App. If you do not see an answer to your issue in this list feel free to email us and we will do our best to send you a response regarding your issue.

Q: How do I look up calorie information for foods with this App?
A: At this time Daily Count does not include a common food calorie look up. One of our main goals in creating this app was to keep it simple and easy to use as well as general and not limited to just counting calories. Many people have varying nutritional tracking needs and can use this program to keep track of protein or carb intake or to regulate their intake of things like salts and sugars.
There are currently a number of well made and inexpensive Apps that perform the function you are looking for. Two popular Apps are Food IQ and CalorieCheck which are both priced at $0.99 (U.S.) and give nutritional information about a variety of foods. Another option is to use one of the many free calorie look up websites that can be found on your favorite search engine (some of these sites are not easily viewable on the iPhone however).
Q: Is it possible to view totals from previous days with this App?
A: Yes it is possible to view previous totals and items but at this time you must email yourself at the end of the day and refer to past emails for a break down of your items and a total count. Currently your information is controlled by the manual reset button but an item history may be considered for a future update.
Q: Is there a way to save common items and values that I often use?
A: This functionality is not currently included in the app but may be added in a future update.
Q: Does this app sync with my web-based or desktop dietary program?
A: Do to the wide variety of choices for programs and not wanting to limit it to just one function, we decided against a web-service tie-in. In lieu of this functionality we have utilized the email system of the iPhone to allow you to send pre-populated items and totals to yourself to be entered into tracking or dietary programs of your choice.
